Having grown up in a family of dentists, Dr. Zach Kashlan received his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2015. He completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2016 and then returned to Atlanta to practice general dentistry.

While practicing general dentistry, he developed a passion for Periodontics while pursuing further training through continuing education courses in Dental Implantology. Driven by the desire to perfect his craft, this passion grew further to become a pursuit of a full-time Periodontics residency training in 2018 at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. During his Periodontics residency, he learned advanced techniques in both non-surgical and surgical Periodontology such as Periodontal Plastic Surgery (gum grafting), complex bone grafting, dental implants, and other advanced procedures like All-on-4 (teeth in a day). While in residency, Dr. Kashlan also completed his master’s in dental sciences with emphasis on alveolar ridge preservation procedures. In addition, he contributed to two articles that were published in dental journals.

Dr. Kashlan is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology, an honor awarded to those who have demonstrated knowledge and skill well beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. Board certification can only be earned after passing comprehensive and rigorous examinations on all aspects of periodontics and has only been achieved by approximately 10 percent of periodontists in the United States.

Dr. Kashlan believes in a collaborative practice model that benefits everyone, especially the patient and their family/general dentist.

Outside of the work environment, Dr. Kashlan enjoys learning languages and staying fit by training in mixed martial arts and calisthenics.
